| This picture (mapped via radar in 1994) show the immense extent of Venus's volcanism. She has more in the way of lava flows than the Earth has rivers.
The atmospheric temperature is in excess of 460ºC and weighs down 92 times as heavily as Earth's does at the surface. Being over 96% CO2, one can appreciate that our greenhouse gas problems are nothing compared to those of Venus! It also contains 150 ppm SO2 just for good measure.
Some excellent mapping has been done of the surface, and some samples have been analysed by the Russian Venera Lander. Ciprian Popa, a Roumanian student in Italy has obtained these and they shall be shown shortly, (Jan.2005)
